LACBC Car-Free Fridays Pledge Page

LACBC Car-Free Fridays is a campaign which encourages both new and experienced riders to choose the bicycle as a transportation alternative for trips under five miles. The campaign is aimed to get more people on bikes and to highlight the global and personal benefits of riding a bicycle.

Sustainable choices and transportation alternatives are a popular means of reducing our carbon footprint, reducing air pollution, staying healthy and saving money.  Choosing to commute by bicycle, even on occasion, can have immediate positive results on our health and on the environment.

Car-Free Fridays is held in the morning on the last Friday of every month. LACBC kicked off Car-Free Fridays in January 2009, riding through Hollywood with L.A. City Council President Eric Garcetti. In February 2009, Bill Rosendahl joined riders in West Los Angeles.

This month, on March 27, LACBC’s ride will be joined by LA City Councilmember LaBonge. We will start at North Hollywood Metro station at 8:00am and end at the Van Nuys Metro Station.

PLEDGE TO RIDE!
This months goal: Get 2 friends or co-workers who do not ride regularly yet, to pledge to ride on Friday March 27th.
