Thanks to all who came out to our Valley Pride Ride on January 9th! Now we’re gearing for our second Sunday Funday ride and ready to explore a new area of LA County!
February’s ride is the I [Heart] the Westside Ride!
I [Heart] the Westside Ride
Date: Sunday, February 6, 2011
Time: Meet at 9:30 A.M.; Ride at 10:00 A.M.
Location: Meet at Santa Monica Pier at 200 Santa Monica Pier, 90401 (accessible by the Metro 10, 20, 33, 333, & 720 lines and Big Blue Bus 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10 lines)
The I [Heart] the Westside Ride will focus on the beauty and romance of the Westside. Led by LACBC Board Member and Biking in LA Blogger, Ted Rogers, this ride will meet at Santa Monica pier and explore the Sharrows on Abbot Kinney and the Marina bike path before following Ballona Creek to Culver City. Then we’ll head to Beverly Hills and back down to the coast with a final leg along the beach back to the pier, all in time to get home to catch the Super Bowl!
Roughly 30 to 35 miles, mostly flat terrain, moderate pace. Best suited for intermediate riders.
Ride will last roughly 3 hours.
Dress in warm layers, as mornings by the beach tend to be cold.
Rain will result in postponement or cancellation of ride.
