LACBC Introduces First Sunday Funday Ride--The Valley Pride Ride--Now on Jan. 9

UPDATED (1/3): Due to weather conditions, we had to reschedule our January 2nd ride for January 9th. So come join us now this Sunday for a family friendly ride on Sunday, January 9th!

Beginning in January 2011, on the first Sunday of each month, LACBC Board and Staff will host a group ride! Each ride will explore a different corner of LA County and reflect the diversity of our organization. What better way to get to know your advocacy organization?

Rides are FREE and open to LACBC members plus one guest. Interested in becoming a member? Visit our membership page or sign up to become a member at the ride.

Valley Pride Ride!
Date (UPDATED): Sunday,  January 9, 2011
Time: Meet at 12:00 P.M.; Ride at 12:30 P.M.
Location: Los Encinos State Park at 16756 Moorpark St., Encino CA 91436 (map) – Accessible by Orange Line Balboa stop

Led by board member Heidi Zeller, Valley Pride will celebrate the country’s quintessential suburb: the San Fernando Valley, like duh! Part nature ride, part historical ride, we’ll begin at Los Encinos State Park (until the late 19th Century, the hub of human habitation in the Southern San Fernando Valley). We’ll then meander through the Sepulveda Basin, taking advantage of some new-ish bicycle paths along the Orange Line.

Approximately 6 miles.
Begins and ends at Los Encinos State Park.
Ride is open to all ages, and will involve bike paths as well as some street riding.

If anyone is interested in volunteering as a ride marshal for the ride, you may also contact Heidi at heidizeller@gmail.com. Basic duties include making sure no rider gets left behind and possibly making minor repairs.
