LACBC’s having a fundraiser next week, and we want you there to help close out 2010! We think the name of the event is incentive enough to come, but in case you’re wondering why you should come, we’ve come up with list of 10 reasons you should come out to LACBC’s 2nd Annual Mid-Winter Merriment at the Library Alehouse (in no particular order):

1. You get to see many of your favorite LACBC Staff, Board, and Members all in one place. We’re pretty cool cats, you’re pretty cool cats. . . let’s hang out!
2. LACBC’s former Planning & Policy Director Dorothy Le is back in town and will probably be there. We know how much everyone misses her (and how much she misses you), so come by and say hi. UPDATE: She’s a busy person, so she’ll try very hard to make it.
3. Fifteen percent of all sales that day benefit LACBC, so you’ll be supporting bicycle advocacy just by eating and drinking. Bring your friends!
4. We know not everyone lives on the Westside, but the fundraiser lasts all day from 11:30 A.M. to 11:00 P.M. so hopefully during that 11.5-hour time period you can come over during a time that works for you.
5. We’ve got tons of great raffle prizes including a Dahon folding bike. UPDATE: Other raffle prizes include Torelli Tipo Uno track bike, Patagonia outdoor gear, Garmin 500 GPS system, NiteRider Lighting System, REI packs & gear, Vigor helmets, 220 Fitness Gym memberships, DVD packs, signed “Give Me 3″ posters, LA River Ride jerseys, and more!
6. If you’ve been itching to become an LACBC member but just haven’t gotten around to it, sign up on the spot and make bicycle advocacy your new year’s resolution for 2011!
7. The Bruery will be there tapping kegs of 3 French Horns and Rugbrød and serving Port Brewing’s Santa’s Little Helper. This is all in addition to the Library Alehouse’s 29 unique microbrews and select imports on tap and international bottled beers. Not to mention, there’s wine and food. The Library Alehouse just rules!
8. Santa Monica Spoke, a Chapter of LACBC, will be providing bike valet after 5:00 P.M. So not only will you have a place to park your bike, but you can meet some the friendly folks at SM Spoke.
9. It’s Two Wheel Tuesday, and this could easily be your best Two Wheel Tuesday yet!
10. We had a ton of fun here last year and we can’t wait for history to repeat itself. We hope to see you all on December 28th!
